Two of most brutal wars in the world were World War 1 and World War 2. World War 1 only caused 24 million deaths compared to World War 2 that caused 60 million deaths worldwide. The Second World War saw a more meaningful participation from the United States of America, which was then set to become the leading superpower in the post war years.
The years of prosperity was followed by the Great Depression and the associated poverty and suffering of the American citizenry. Wars have definitely changed through time and how it takes place. The Second World War though cannot be attributed to any event or act of an accidental nature.
